You know the feeling. We know the feeling. You just spent months putting the finishing touches on your portfolio. You proudly send off your book just as a proud father sends off his son to college. And just as that father will rarely hear from his son, you'll rarely get any feedback on your book. If you are one of the lucky few to score an interview, you'll be on top of the world. Embrace this. After getting no replies to a couple of emails I sent to an agency about a position they said they’d have for me at the end of the season, I decided to call them to ask if it was still available. They told me that they’d find out about it and would call me back next week.

I realized later that I never told them my last name and they never asked how to reach me.

An interviewer told me that my conceptual skills are strong but my design skills are weak. In a separate interview, they told me my design skills are strong but my conceptual skills are weak.
